Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Pressing is a non-destructive process that uses controlled heat, humidity, and pressure to flatten a comic book. It safely removes non-color-breaking defects like dents, bends, ripples, and spine rolls.

While no one can guarantee a specific grade, pressing and dry cleaning are the most effective ways to improve a book’s structural condition before grading. Removing surface dirt and flattening creases often results in a higher grade from CGC.

No. CGC explicitly states that pressing and dry cleaning are not considered restoration because they do not add any foreign material to the book. Pressing will not trigger a purple “Restored” label.

Our standard turnaround time for pressing and cleaning is four to five weeks from the day we receive your books.
